The Fry Chronicles: A friendship that makes you want to cry constantly.

I’m about half through now and I’ve realized how much Hugh Laurie has impacted his life.
If it were not Stephen, Hugh would be the center focus. There are other people, of course, lovers and friends and such. But there not touched on in same way. What he has with Hugh is the most important happening in his life.
The way he talks of others in a sole context but with Hugh it’s always “Hugh and I” together.
The way they were drawn to each other before their meeting.
The way they clicked instantaneously as if it always has been and was meant to be.
The way Hugh’s written about in such an affectionate manner.
His pride for Hugh’s talents. His love for him to the point of him almost getting choked up about it.
I started to cry at that point. I cannot begin to explain to why their friendship is so precious to me. When they talk about each other, they just light up.
It’s so fully returned, strong, and real

Reason 24: His friendship with Stephen Fry
Aside from their working partnership, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie have remained the best of friends for decades. Fry was Laurie’s best man at his wedding and has become godfather to all three of Hugh’s children.
“‘Hugh is my best friend,’ says Stephen. ‘That is what is so pleasing about working with each other. We do it because we enjoy it. We make each other laugh. We couldn’t do it as a job if we didn’t like each other. We see each other a lot in our spare time. Part of the way you write comes from humorous things that happen when you do things together.’”
”It’s as if you don’t realize how much I love you”- Hugh Laurie
“The man is a national treasure. He’s a national treasure and he’s a personal treasure too. I share him with the nation.” -Hugh Laurie
“Hugh is my sergeant major, my matron, my girlfriend, my one night stand all rolled into one. He’s everything to me.” Stephen Fry
“Yes, I mean, they would have met, probably in about five minutes anyway, but I like to think that I myself as having been entirely responsible for the whole Fry/Laurie phenomenon. Um, but of course they would have met because they were… destined always to be friends” Emma Thompson
